About
Screen videos should behave like you meant them to.
Most screen recorders capture pixels. Then the real work starts: finding every click, placing every zoom, timing every highlight, and doing it all again when the recording changes.
MeCorder starts from a different place. It records what happened, not just what it looked like: which element you clicked, what you typed into, where you scrolled. That makes it possible to describe a video by its intent, as a Program, and let the editor do the frame-by-frame work.
Principles
- Intent first, Timeline always. Programs write ordinary keyframes and effects. You can always open the Timeline and adjust any of them by hand.
- Never guess. If a click has no name, a Program skips it and says so, rather than aiming at the wrong thing.
- Your Mac, your recordings. Recording, editing, captions and export happen on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded.
- One undo step. Whatever a Program, the Ask box or the AI Director does, ⌘Z takes it back in one go.
- A native Mac app. Built with Apple’s frameworks, designed to feel at home next to the apps you already use.
Where things are
MeCorder is in active development and hasn’t had a public release yet. The changelog follows the work as it lands, and the documentation describes what’s built today.
